Division of Environmental Planning and Assistance News

The Warren County Environmental Planning & Assistance division's (DEPA) goals and objectives assist the Office of Stormwater Management in meeting common goals and objectives of facilitating a cleaner environment through pollution prevention and reduction. DEPA serves as an action link between Warren County and its citizens. Complaints and suggestions from the public can be filed with the office and handed to the appropriate agency. DEPA deals directly with Warren County's solid waste and recycling franchisees. The division also performs periodic inspections involving environmental and property maintenance issues, such as junk vehicles, weed and grass violations and accumulations of rubbish and garbage, including identification of illegal dumpsites. DEPA works closely with independent contractors and the Warren County Regional Jail and Road Department and other agencies in facilitating the cleanup of these dumpsites. The division oversees Warren County's Area Solid Waste Management Plan, and works with many agencies involving litter abatement activities throughout the county.
