WARREN COUNTY
OFFICE OF STORMWATER
MANAGEMENT UPDATE
The Warren
County Office of Stormwater Management (OSM) occupied renovated space on the
second floor to the 1141 State Street office building in March of 2006. The new
office space has improved our ability to serve the citizens of Warren County.
Individual office spaces have decreased the interruptions inherent with the
previous open office layout. Included with the renovation is a small conference
area, equipment room, and file storage area. All these added spaces contribute
to a more efficient operation for the three Divisions (Building and Electrical
Services, Environmental Planning and Assistance, and Stormwater Management)
included within OSM.
Staff
changes during the previous months have included medical leave for Suanne Boss
Clerk for the Building and Electrical Services Division, the resignation of
Mitch Ratliff who has been filling the GIS/Engineering Tech position for
Stormwater Management Division, and the hiring of Robert Elrod as the Inspector/Engineering
Tech for Stormwater Management Division. Suanne we trust you will be able to be
back with us soon. Mitch we wish you well in your move. Robert we welcome you to
the staff of OSM.
Other
milestones for OSM staff include Stan Reagans completion of 10 years of
service with County government, Harper Stewarts assistance filling in for
Suanne, and Craig Hunt successfully passing the first of three parts for his
Level III Certification as a Building Inspector for the Commonwealth of
Kentucky. Congratulations and thanks to these members of the OSM staff.
Warren
County Fiscal Court has passed OSMs Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control
Ordinance (EPSC). Inspections have been initiated and are to be continued with
the addition of Robert Elrod to the Stormwater Management staff. In addition to
the EPSC Ordinance an Illicit Discharge Ordinance is currently under review and
is scheduled to be on the agenda for passage after the first of July. These two
ordinances along with a Post Construction Ordinance included with our permit move
Warren County toward compliance with the mandated Federal Phase II permit. This
permit is currently in project year three of a five year permit cycle.
We
are beginning and will continue to make a difference in the quality of life for
everyone in our County as we continue to work together to manage our growth in
a responsible manner. A special thanks to all agencies, contractors,
organizations, and persons who are working with OSM to implement the required
changes.
